What are Chakras?

Chakras are the energy centers in the human body

The following is a brief summary of the spiritual life-lessons represented by the seven chakras:

  • First chakra: lessons related to the material world
  • Second chakra: lessons related to relationships, work and physical desire
  • Third chakra: lessons related to the ego, personality and self-esteem
  • Fourth chakra: lessons related to love, forgiveness, and compassion
  • Fifth chakra: lessons related to will and self-expression
  • Sixth chakra: lessons related to mind, intuition, insight, and wisdom
  • Seventh chakra: lessons related to spirituality

Chakra I.

Location: Base of Spine

Energy Connection: The first chakra is the foundation of emotional and mental health which originates in the famity unit and early social environment.

Symbolic connection: First chakra energy manifests in our need for logic, order and structure.

Primary strength: Tribal, family identity, bonding honor. The support and loyalty that give one a sense of safety and connection to the physical world.

Chakra II.

Location: Lower abdomen to navel area
Energy connection: This chakra resonates to our need for relationships with other people and our need to control our physical environment.
Symbolic connection: The healthy second chakra energy keeps us able to interact with the physical world without having to negotiate or “sell” ourselves,
it is the energy of self-sufficiency.
Primary strength: The ability and stamina to survive financially and physically on one’s own, Personal and professional decision-making ability; the resilience to recover from loss.
Primary fears: Fears of loss of control, or being controlled by another.

Chakra III.

Location: The solar plexus
Energy connection: The third chakre is our personal power center, the core of the personality and ego.
Symbolic connection: Our focus changes in the third chakra form how we relate to people around us to how we relate to and understand ourselves
Primary strength: Self-esteem, self-respect, self-discipline, ambition.
Primary fears: Fears of rejection, criticism, looking foolish and failing to meet one’s responsibilities, all fears related to physical appearance

Chakra IV.

Location: Center of chest
Energy connection: This chakra resonates to our emotional perceptions.
Symbolic connection: The fourth chakra represents our capacity to “let go and let God”.
By releasing our emotional pain, by letting go of our need to know why things have happened as they have, we reach a state of tranquility.
Primary strength: Love, forgiveness, compassion, dedication, inspiration, hope trust and the ability ti heal oneself and others
Primary fears: Fears of loneliness, commitment, and “following one’s heart”. Fear of inability to protect oneself emotionally. Loss of fourth chakra energy can give rise to jealousy, bitterness, anger, hatred, and an inability to forgive others as well as oneself. Read the rest of this entry »

Energy connection: The fifth chakra resonates to the numerous emotional and mentals struggles involved in learning the nature of the power of choice.
Symbolic connection: The challenge of the fifth chakra is to progress through maturation of will:
Everybody has authority over me, I alone have authority, to the final perception, that true authority comes from aligning yourself with a higher power.
Primary strength: Self- knowledge and personal authority, ability to keep your word
Primary fear: Fears related to our willpower exist within each chakra

Chakra VI.

Energy connection: The sixth chakra links us to our mental body, our intelligence
and psychological characteristics.
Symbolic connection: The sixth chakra activates the lessons that lead us to wisdom.
We achieve wisdom both through life experiences and by acquiring the perceptual ability of detachment.
Primary strength: Intellectual abilities and skills, evaluation of conscious and unconscious insights
Primary fears: An unwillingness to look within and excavate one’s fears.
